The thing with both Aldi and Lidl (both German companies!) is that they post these deals on the websites, but they don't tend to be running at the same time across the country. The local Lidl here is doing fishing equipment, with some dry bag cycling panniers and other general stuff, whereas they may be doing outdoor gear elsewhere in, say, Manchester. Supposedly, the stock that isn't sold gets sent on to another store in the country and it goes on a rota system.
They do exactly the same thing in Germany, in fact, Lidl looks and even smells exactly the same here as it does in Germany. Frau Spamel got a little homesick when we were in Lidl yesterday, but she soon cheered up when she found some of the exact same products here in the UK stores!
