Advice on jungle footware needed

Looks like any and all types of boots/shoes have been used with some success in the Borneo jungles. The important bit seems to be traction and the ability to dry quickly. I don't fancy walking in wellies (done enough of that in the Swedish mountains), so I'll probably look for either jungle boots and/or orienteering shoes.

The parang looks just the ticket, however I have no clue what type we'll be given on the course.

Cool, if it's run by Woodsmoke you should get some excellent parangs and tuition. As they know the terrain very well, you should also get all the info you need about footwear.

OT but just to set you guys straight - you have an Iban blade for sure but a golok not the headhunting blade.
