I was lucky enough to escape for a long weekend in the woods with some mates, near Savernake Forest.
A strong, cold, easterly wind had a bit of an edge to it throughout, but couldn't spoil the trip, although I decided to go to ground in the bivi bag rather than hammock after wresting with the tarp in the wind for ages !.
Lots of wildlife from deer, foxes, pheasants and badgers, lots of dawn chorus too, brilliant
