I had the weekend off so two friends and I got dropped of at Belstone yesterday morning and headed to Postbridge in a meandering route spending last night camped out. It was a bit wet and windy this morning as we broke camp and as we carried on across the moor the rain was sideways. We went into the Dartmoor information centre to wait in the dry for our lift to be told that over night it had been -4.5 with windchill, there had been an inch of rain and 60mph winds so I was pleased that I had the lean to shelter had stayed up and we had managed to get the fire going again in the morning. Other than my feet I also wasn't to wet and I wasn't cold having gone for shorts and tshirt under a set of cheap non breathable waterproofs and was much dryer than my mates in "better" gear although they did seem to have dryer feet as there boots were goretex lined and mine weren't but after we had to wade across a few calf deep bits we all had wet feet.

Sorry the pictures are so big the bottom one is the footpath leading into Postbridge

And this is the view from the brushwood shelter looking at my mate under his poncho
