Having had such a great time in Spain last year we were all set to go again, then came Corona. So France and Spain off limits, we decided on Germany. Many changes of plan later we brought forward departure to late Sept to beat lockdown, and have been in Saxony ever since. We plan to move on to our next workaway at the end of the month and hope to be in Germany for some months, but we are of course at the mercy of events.
However, so far so good, stunning countryside that rolls on for ever, loads of woodland, and superb food. Our current hosts are also brilliant.
weekends are mostly resting as its hard graft in the week and I am feeling my age !
We have however had some trips out, went to Bergen Belsen last weekend, not a fun day but very worthwhile. A super walk 8n the woods today, so peaceful here.

Moral of this seems to be grab it whilst you can, we can always go home.

re handled some old tools for our hosts one day this week, very satisfying. Also on with sawing up then splitting eight cubic metres of trees.........takes a while.

Great! Keep the reports coming.
These arrangements are an excellent thing and mutually beneficial. My son has been hosting two Danish girls on his smallholding in Spain. They have been a valuable help with getting in his olive harvest. I wouldn't be surprised if my granddaughter has added Danish to her Spanish and English.

Thanks !
we are a bit worried that if lockdown tightens this week it may be tricky to stay but we shall see what is announced. There is a good feel to it all, our hosts need help, they accomodate and feed us, and we are letting someone house sit for free at home, so everybody benefits. If only everything were so simple !

Well, things have moved on and so have we.
First new home was shall we say, filthy, dirty, smelly and illegal.
We are now in a castle dating to 13C being restored by its owners, who both work in this field.
Much better !
