I have just finished reading a book i have had for a while.

The Collins Camping and Hiking Manual. It's probably well known but i haven't seen any mention of it on here.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Collins-Complete-Hiking-Camping-Manual/dp/000724763X

A very good book with lots to offer. Chapters on......

1, Trip Planning...p1
2, Equipment...p19
3, Cooking and Nutrition....p66
4, Hygiene and Water Purification...p87
5 Leave No Trace Camping and Hiking...p104
6, Wilderness Travel...p132
7, Weather and Nature...p193
8, Safety and Emergency Procedures...p223
9 First Aid and Emergency Care...p256
10, Outdoor Leadership...p378

So 414 pages of good info and a few pages of references. First Aid and Navigation being the greater part. The other chapters are well covered aswell. The book isn't a pocket book, but it's not too large either.
