A question about sword laws.

I was wondering if this includes machetes? And whether people who noticed it [i.e. customs, police etc.] would stop it from being imported if i was ordering a machete. Would a machete be classed as a sword? It could certainly be confused for one by a custums officer who didn't know any different.

Does anyone have more information on it?

Not a sword but a tool so the reasons for use limitations apply as to any other edged tool or knife.

I'm certainly not an expert on UK law but just looking at the link you posted, the restriction seems to apply only if the blade length is over 50cm (quick math shows that as just over 19 inches) Most typical machetes (that bushcraft sources advertise) are only 18 inches or less anyway.
