A few shots from my paddle on Coniston Water today.

I've not been since I was a little kid and was looking forward to seeing it again.

Ready for the off at about 6:30 this morning

Lovely shots there Shewie, looks peaceful, how long did it take you?

The drive over from Leeds took about 1hr 45m but when I got to the water I was in no rush :D

I set off from the south east corner and paddled about 3/4 the way up the east shore then cut across to the opposite side. I went right up to the Crake and then back down to the my car, about 5 hours paddling with plenty of shoreline exploration.

Shewie,
Great photos and looks like a superb day out, I was on Thirlemere last w/e with SWMBO and it could not have been different weather, wind and rain for three hours solid!! (still good to be out though)

Looks like you had a lovely day out Rich, it's a shame I couldn't make it.

I like the many gratuitous "canoe in various poses" shots. If it's any consolation, I've been paddling for years and I still take shots like that. Also, the OT Pack is the only canoe that I've seen that makes a hatchback car look big. The last photo almost looks like one of those old perspective jokes that I remember from art class at school.

Cheers, and Happy Paddling, Michael.

Great pics Rich, Im definately taking up that kind of day out when able to.
BTW what sort of canoe is yours, looks just the right size. Would an average sized chap his daughter and kit for a night, out fit in there ok?
