Just after I made it a woolen cosy too...

After an inspection I found it is leaking at the stopper.

the stopper screws into a plastic threaded bit, which is fitted in the rubber top.

this is leaking.

So I need a glue that flexes, yet has good penetration properties.

any suggestions?

Sticks better than araldite.....but flexible. Absolutely awesome stuff.

However in this case a shot of silicone sealant should do it

Tengu, put it in the bin.

Go to Boots and buy a new one. They start about £2.99

It's not worth either being scalded or soaked bed and bedding.

Don't glue the handle back on a mug, or try to seal a leaky hot water bottle; the consequences of it going wrong when they are full of hot water isn't worth it.

Tengu try some hot stones until you get a replacement. Wrapped in a towel or plastic bag.
Hot stones in a bag, in your bed? Its 2012 not 1912 lol.

You could drink a 3 litre flagon of 9 proof white cider then when you wake up in the chair or on the floor, if you still feel the need to go to bed fill the empty flagon with hot but not boiling water and use that as a hot water 'bottle'.
