It was Coniston. Stayed at Coniston Hall campsite. No fires allowed but great site right on the lake. I explored the mine to the limit of light, have to take a torch next time. It's the old mine on the way up to Coniston Old Man....

Was looking at going up to Coniston towards the end of August or early Sepetember. Think I'll make that a definite now :)

hi dave, spent many years going to coniston hall camping, then it got too rowdy, still the same? the shade of the mine entrance is very inviting after a hot walk up the old man but its like stepping into a fridge! :)
