That's a good question Torjus...pine resin comes to mind, if you are thinking vegetable...and of course there are several animal glues from hide and fish bladders etc. Sinew when wet produces its own adhesive, and shrinks when it dries giving a tight finish that is hard to beat.

Not sure about other flower saps, though I have no doubt someone on here will enlighten us :)
