I use http://www.mapchannels.com/DualMaps.aspx which uses both Google maps/Street View and Microsoft's Bling, It will give similar images to your two maps but this is very handy for pointing out gateways to sites.
For example the below link is to a Irish Scout Cabin (well the gateway to it) then you go down the forrest track cross a bridge, head up to your right and stay right till you see the cabin)

@ Qwerty, is that the route you took in the forum post where you put the pics?

On my Android phone I use RunKepper to chart/log my routes. Was using myTracks for awhile but thought it lack features.
