4000 posts?
4000 posts?

I’m not even a real bushcrafter!

I don’t know enough for 4000 posts - but thinking about it that has never stopped me from writing about anything. :)

May I use #4001 just to say a big Thank You to all here who let me tag along.

Pat.

People talk a lot of shite on the internet. Standard. :)

For me 18 years, 9k posts... less than 2 posts a day on average.

Wait... isn't it traditional/a custom... when declaring a post count to do a small comp for someone to win something? I remember many such events....Its like offering the forum a small thank you for listening to our drivel for so long, while offering a little bit (silly comp, silly small prize) back. Such as... Went out foraging mushrooms today... (insert pic of foraged shrooms)... Nearest guess to what it weighs... wins an (insert prize here)... Normally an unwanted item that others might make use of, some material... bag of birch bark etc... Don't recall anyone offering to pay someone's mortgage, or buy them a custom knife... Just tit for tat, things, that made people engage with one another. Kept the place ticking. Soooo....

What you got? And what's the competition... :p

Not a real bushcrafter? I've never attempted bushcraft in my life yet I'm already north of 500 posts in just a few months. It's a funny old world eh? Still, it's a pleasure conversing with you (and everyone else).

Strangely I seem to have more in common with you guys than I do with 'normal' people in the real world. No one else seems to be interested in saws, axes, rain gear, setting fires, eating food from hedges, types of walking socks or any of the other weird things you lot regularly talk about. I came here to ask a question about poncho sizing but ended up staying for the people. It's a fun place.

Indeed John.
If my last ten posts received eight reactions was it:
Eight reactions to one out of ten.
One reaction to eight out of ten - And was it from one person or from eight?

(Or anything in between)

Perhaps a fringe dwelling, adequist, not quite bushcrafter - doesn’t always say the right thing and scores a low reaction.

Perhaps he’s being far too analytical - sorry-ish!

Im no real Bushcrafter.

I dont even count myself as an outdoorsy sort...I much prefer the Archive to outside.

(Who said "No Archive without Outside?")

I may be wrong but I don't think reactions were counted in the early years. Therefore, long term members' post/réaction ratios cannot be compared with those of newer members.

For what it's worth, since joining in 2005, my 3490 posts provoked 2349 reactions or about 67%
