Green maple for the Spyderco and it was the most uncomfortable to use! A bit of spalted/rotten holly for the Boker Zenshin, which looks like a Higo. It wasn't too bad.Nicely done, well impressed. I was going to ask how that little Spyderco coped until I saw the Higo. I hope you picked the softer woods and smaller spoons for those 2?
Great! I look forward to seeing this! What a brilliant challenge, with great results, too!
That has inspired me to do something similar, if more modest: I have a 'significant birthday' next year, so I will try and make a number of spoons - one for each year - over the course of the twelve months... Thank you for that spur!
I've always wondered whether Mickey Finn was rhyming slang for something! They make rolling pins out of ivy, dont they?
Next experiment will be using an axe!Brilliant!
I’m amazed you could work so delicately with some of those knives.
I think I need to just make 25 spoons in a month.
Both of the axes I own would be pretty good for that challenge so I might copy. One by Dave Budd and the other I forged on one of Dave’s courses. Could work well I think.Next experiment will be using an axe!
Shouldn't be a problem as long as they're sharp! Both of the axes I own would be pretty good for that challenge so I might copy. One by Dave Budd and the other I forged on one of Dave’s courses. Could work well I think.
Both shaving sharp.Shouldn't be a problem as long as they're sharp!
