MindMoot – A Gentle Woodland Gathering (29–31 May)
Hi all,
I wanted to share something a little different with you…
We’ve been running the Moots for many years now, and they’ve always been about community, skills, crafts, fires, and good company. But over time, something else has naturally emerged alongside that, the quieter moments. Sitting by the fire with a brew. A slow wander through the woods. Carving something simple while chatting with good people. I've had many conversations with people about how much BushMoots have changed their lives for the better. MindMoot is built around those moments.
What is MindMoot?
MindMoot is a small, community driven gathering focused on mindfulness, nature, and simple bushcraft and woodland experiences. It’s not a full on bushcraft course or a packed workshop schedule.
Instead, it’s a gentle woodland gathering where the pace slows right down.
Think:
• Unhurried mornings with a coffee by the fire
• Woodland walks and time to just be in nature
• Simple crafts like carving, done at your own pace
• Shared meal and relaxed conversation
• Optional guided mindfulness, writing and breathing sessions
• Easy going discussions
There’s no pressure to do anything. You can join in, or just sit quietly and soak it all in.
Why come along?
Life gets busy. No surprise there.
MindMoot is a chance to step away from all of that for a few days.
To slow down.
To breathe properly.
To be present.
To spend time outdoors without needing to “achieve” anything.
People often leave feeling:
• Calmer and more grounded
• Reconnected with nature
• Recharged mentally
• Relaxed physically
• Grateful for simple things again
• Valued and seen
And just as importantly, you’ll be sharing that space with a small group of genuinely good people.
“I left feeling much better than I arrived. Calmer, more relaxed, more grounded - better.” - Mark
Who is it for?
If any of this resonates, you’ll likely feel at home:
• You’ve been feeling a bit burnt out or overwhelmed
• You enjoy being outdoors but don’t always want intensity
• You value good conversation around a fire
• You want a bit of headspace and breathing room
You don’t need any experience. Just an openness to slow down and be present.
What makes it special?
It’s hard to fully describe, but those who’ve come along before will know…
There’s something about a small group, a woodland setting, and no pressure to perform or rush. It creates a really refreshing atmosphere, relaxed, welcoming, and quietly powerful.
It’s not about doing more.
It’s about doing less, but better.
Alison summed it up like this - "During that time I connected with myself, with a group of other people, and with the world around me more richly than I have for years."
