Got to say it looks remarkably like the Gerber sport axe at £40 which i fancy. If they are the same its a damn good buy.
Not sure what the proper price is for the Fiskars.

me neither..I saw a small fiskars in Focus diy a few motnhs back for about £30 and a quick googling shows about that price too.. the link I put up is american I think so that's why it's cheap there.

Noticed that too. Think a trip out tommorrow.
Stuck at home at the moment waiting for the bloody Royal Mail to deliver my new sharp thing.

The wooden handled version was selling for that price in Dobbies garden centres a couple of years ago. A few folks picked them up, cleaned off the orange :)yikes:) paint and got themselves really good tools for under £20.

Check Amazon for comparison ?

i used one of these fiskars axes for a month, whilst living in the woods. they are great for splitting and processing firewood, not so good for cleaving and carving, they hold a pretty good edge though.

I hear they are good choppers, the husqavarna hatchet is apparently a step up from the bacho.
