I need a big rucksack as I go trekking across Nepal carrying food, stove, tent (but I plan to try a bivy/tarp set up for some times of year), food and gear. I didn't have a big enough ruck sack and ended up with bags hanging off it, which was tiring.

Has any one got any thoughts on stitching a karrimor sf panel onto the Middle/back of a berghaus vulcan?
i want to add a couple of say maxpedition pouches and alike for easy access to med kit, haribo etc.
if anyone has done something similar or has any recommendations i'd be grateful

I've already got a large bag for hiking but a lot of people seem to like military bergans for bushcraft.
If that's the case and you don't mind second hand kit I spotted a berghaus Vulcan II Cyclops going for £45? Meant to be one of the best bergans around. Just in case :D...
I'm seriously considering purchasing this rucksack it seems to be a safe purchase but I am unsure if I can find one in the store so might have to buy blind over the net.

I have an older Karrimor Sabre 45 (the one with the unpadded waist belt and with out the molle attachment tapes) with the 2 detachable side pockets.
Is there a way to attach an extra pocket to the front of the sac?
Any one got any ideas as to how to improve the waist strap?

A lot of the gear we carry mainly for a bit more comfort and is bulky not so much heavy , RVOPs do a mod to there Berghaus Vulcan so you can fit a PLCE side pouch on the front of your pack ,
