Sabre 45 and pockets

I have an older Karrimor Sabre 45 (the one with the unpadded waist belt and with out the molle attachment tapes) with the 2 detachable side pockets.

Is there a way to attach an extra pocket to the front of the sac?

Any one got any ideas as to how to improve the waist strap?

Just get an old respirator bag or shoulder bag and secure the strap around the sack and through the side pouch loops...
