    Greenkat Spotting Scope

*Swapped* Greenkat spotting scope - shooting, birdwatching etc. Two lenses - 30x and 50x, straight through or angled. It's had a slight accident so some damage to the lens hood and outer ring. No damage to optics as far as I can see. Close up shows some sand, sorry didn't clean it, just...

    Mystery print

Old deer print to the left. Mystery print to the centre. V shaped with a second just below. I can't think of anything that would leave this and there was no evidence of a shoeprint around it, nor have I seen a walking stick which would leave this. Ideas? Thanks :)

    Leather stitching question

Having experimented last night, I have a question. If you've glued two pieces of leather together, how do you start and end the stitching? Do you just start back say three stitches from the end, go to the end and come back, overstitching? Do you just cut off the spare thread then and won't it...

    Plant id help?

Embarrasing to have to ask for every plant I come across I know, but I don't seem to be able to track this one down. Part of the rosaceae family I think, though that doesn't really narrow it down. It's growing in deciduous woodland clearings mixed in with bramble. No flowers yet, and I've...

    Woodland Trust volunteers

I'm fairly sure from comments here before that some people have done this, but I'm just wondering what the general opinion was. The automated response I got back was along the lines of 'we get so many people volunteering, we may never actually contact you'. Clearly they have got a lot bigger...

    Axe profiling

Right, well here goes then! This is my grandfathers axe, a 4lb Brades. Now it's not a very good quality axe, I'll be the first to admit it, but then my grandfather was a countryman and farm worker all of his life as was his father and father before him. The handle is no better quality than...

    Plant id?

Now, I'm almost sure that this horse chestnut, but those pointy young leaves are throwing me off. It's a small plant, but could be a sapling as this is a shoot off a woody stem thats been broken/cut off. The leaf stalks certainly appear to join with the normal U shaped joint. Apologies for...

Red Hunters Axe - Cegga, version 1

First my apologies for taking so long in writing this, it's an embarassing thing having agreed to write one in return for getting the axe at such an incredibly low price, and so I would personally offer my apologies to Red and Cegga. Now, I am a novice with axes, one reason it's taken me so...
