Tools look great Tom, Great job cleaning them up. I enjoy collecting tools myself also and have found a lot of the older ones were much better built for the job. I visit Burnley every weekend, which is near to you from where I live over in Cheshire and have found a great tool stall in the...

Little leatherwork: Mary Rose inspired archery bracer.

What a superb job you've made. I'm really impressed with the detail of the embossing. Is this stamped in manualy with a punch. The colour is really rich, and even the rivets have a good amount of detail. Looks great.

    couple gouges

A..ha.. Understand, I've started using the gorilla glue, the one for metal and wood.. Looks like syrup. There's another that is specific for wood also. I've found that it expands which makes for tight joint. I do like epoxy myself though, especially the rapid 10min stuff works really well. The...

From old gate post to bowl...

Thanks ever so much for the kind replies, this was my second bowl, I made 4 in total and started to get the hang of what each tool did, I must say though that this was a little to big for the machine really and took quite a bit of effort to keep it concentric on the spindle ... To much weight...

Great work John, very neat and well presented. Colour looks really rich. Does this serve as an overstrike protection also. I haven't done much with an axe as yet but assume this to be the main purpose aswell as looking good also. Dave.

From old gate post to bowl...

This was a 14 year old oak gate post from the top of my drive, I was quite upset to see a good solid oak post deteriorate so quickly. I had done some reasarching at the time of making the fence and it suggested that a life of around 70 years wasn't unreasonable..non the less I got to work making...

    Pallet wood to the rescue....

That's good advice thanks.. I'm trying different techniques at the moment and I had some spare time to use up, once I feel a little more confident in shapeing the wood I'll upgrade the quality and type of wood .

    Outdoor insect repellent...

This was made from cut off in the local park next to work, so I decided to shape and sand it with a planer, hand grinder, and then used a forstener bit to sink the tea lights in..finally gave the whole thing a coat of lacquer... Cheers . Dave .

Yes, sorry that's what I was meaning to say. And yes definitely it's does need a better understanding of the law, certainly by the police. The law as it stands now would work perfectly well 'if' it were used in a correct manner. The thing I was thinking about with regards to a licence...

    Multi tool carry

Hi chaps, this is something that I've been deeply reasarching over the last three months or so, and looking for greater clarification in the law. If you look at my post in introductions it gives you an idea what I've actively been up to. I've just sent a letter of today to no 10 Downing...
