Day Out Loch Ard a peaceful paddle

I can see they would not be for everyone but as with most breeds the upbringing can make a big difference. She gets loads of exercise with us, so much so we need to feed her more than double the recommended amount. This helps a lot so when in the house she is just lying about with no interest...

Day Out Loch Ard a peaceful paddle

Georgie, the Dutchie actually came from one of the members on here, Gill. Not a breed I would have necessarily picked as a first choice but fancied seeing how I got on with a so called high energy dog. Suspect my next dog will see me returning to rotties. I used a few cameras making the video...

Day Out Loch Ard a peaceful paddle

Hi Mary. I’ve had twig stoves in the past and they have not stayed in use long. This one seems a better size. Not so big I would be as well taking a firebox and not so small it is no use. I get on fine with a full sized Kelly kettle it is just the small ones that don’t seem to have the right...

Day Out Loch Ard a peaceful paddle

It’s been a while since I shared one of my trips on here. I tend to feel they are not bushcrafty enough. This one was partly to test a new twig stove since I find the small Kelly kettles don’t really work well for me, so made it a bit more relevant. After managing to talk time for a Friday...

Paria Outdoor Thermodown 15 Degree Down Sleeping Quilt Review

I’ve still to try it as an under blanket but have had it sitting side by side with my down under blankets and it is pretty much the same size so don’t see any reason it wouldn’t work. If you were only going to use it as an under blanket you could probably get away with the lighter and cheaper...

    Wanted Enzo Borka 90 scandi

As the title, looking to see if anyone is selling an Enzo Borka with scandi grind. Really love my PK70 for everyday carry so looking for a locking model for more rugged use. Might consider a Birk if the price was tempting enough.

Paria Outdoor Thermodown 15 Degree Down Sleeping Quilt Review

Paria Outdoor Thermodown 15 Degree Down Sleeping Quilt Review When you have been camping for a while there are some things you keep looking for but don’t seem to be made by anyone. For me one of those items was a good, all season down quilt for using in the Swag or hammock. Of course, when it...

    Some post cold holiday projects.

I’ve seen the toggles for sale and they aren’t expensive. I’ve also seen versions of the necklace for less than a fiver on eBay but the fun was in the making with spare stuff I had to hand.

I have a punch for the paper and tape a bit of punched paper to the leather so I can line up the punch and cutting. I have a punch that cuts ovals for the wide part of the discs then I cut the slots from these with a knife. The paper punch only takes a few sheets so you can’t fit leather in it.

Here you go. I usually use the 24mm for my books but in this case I used some 10mm ones to keep it thin. https://www.cultpens.com/c/q/brands/atoma/atoma-notebook-accessories

@g4ghb the discs are Atoma binding disks. They are aluminium so matt silver but still so much better than the plastic ones. Also the Atoma ones are wider than the metal disc planner ones. I prefer the wider look.

    Some post cold holiday projects.

I was loaded with the cold over Christmas but finally started to feel better a few days ago. I felt well enough to have a footer about with some projects. First off I made a firefighting necklace. I actually made two, one for a neighbour. It’s a leather lace with a tungsten carbide scraper...

    Note taking...what do you use?

‘The disk binding system is really flexible. It lets you open it back on itself like a spiral notebook. Pages can be taken out and reordered and in your archive books back at home you can use the cheap plastic ARC discs and have an A4 set up that can have pages of any size intermingled in it...

Latest leather book. This time with pyrography decoration.

It smells a bit but not too bad. Nothing you need a mask for. Yes the binding is separate discs so the book can flip completely open and back on itself. This means with the right punch you can add pages of any size to any book and also you can swap out the discs for larger of smaller ones as...
