    Lost treasure?

I've just learned today - oddly enough - that Mead should really be kept for between 3 to 5 years before drinking. Boots Chemist used to be able to analyse a sample of a brew (do you call it a brew when it comes to mead *shrug*) for you, to check for safety. I don't know if they still offer the...

    Meade ?

Great advice match, just what I was searching for today. I guess if you get some on the go every three of four months, you'll them have a constant supply, But a whole years wait the first time.... :( I better go buy some to keep me going or try adding honey to some white wine as you suggest...

    Quo Vadis

Not from me, thats for sure. I have every respect for him. In fact I'd say he's been a great inspiration and a great teacher. If there is bad feeling elsewhere I have no idea what its based on.

    Christmas List

:o D'oh my bad! Imagine lugging a 14" Billy around? :D I did indeed mean 14cm, tee hee.

    Creepy woods

Totally agree with you Abbe. Quite often even in town I just get a sense to take another route and never question it if my planned path doesn't feel right anymore. It can be just temporary or it can be places that have a permanent uneasy 'feel' about them. The reasons could be different each...

    Christmas List

A 14" Billy can. I don't need one as the 12" one I have is perfectly good but it drives me nuts because I can't get my mug inside it without the little plate on top not shoved up out of place for storage. Its just that wee bit too small.

    Quo Vadis

Parents grew up in India then moved to England and had me. They then went on to work in Africa 9 months of the year when I was a kid so I pretty much grew up there, hearing many exciting bedtime stories about adventures in 'the Bush' in both India and Africa. I remember Dad driving me out to the...

    inspirational

Thanks Moko. Its a club so only a few of the photographs are mine, but I'm the main Admin. The members are very talented photographers and take some wonderful photographs of our British Wildlife. If I find any good new books I'll keep you posted :)

    Vegetarians and vegans

lol. Its one of those subjects folk do kinda get worked up about.

    Vegetarians and vegans

Carniverous teeth I have but I'm vegetarian too. The simple answer is I'm more interested in what an animal thinks and experiences than what it tastes like. We're omniverous, capable of living perfectly well on other tasty food so for me, vegetarian it is! The Bacon Devil does come to taunt me...

Whats the point of Bushcraft in the UK?

Why climb a mountain? Because it's there. Why bother with Bushcraft in the UK? Because wild places still exist here and we can still be part of it for one thing. The magic of being that close to nature aside for a moment - if one can ever put that aside - the modern world we live in turns us...

If you owned some land, what trees would you plant?

Yup, I agree 100% but I'd have Beech in the middle of my wood too.

    Share your Library

The site could easily be a cynical ploy to encourage Amazon sales but if that is the case you can always get any book you may like the look of elsewhere and foil their cunning plan ;) I didn't enter the details of the books myself - although you can if you want to - I just entered the title in...

    Share your Library

A friend on another completely unrelated forum found a site yesterday called Library Thing that lets you catalogue your books online. It sounded like a bit of fun so I started to put a few of my books on there but neither of us could think of a useful purpose for it. Then it occured to me it...

Dark Age Briton and Scandinavian types...

Hmmm, my version of quicktime won't play the trailer - just the audio. It would have to be exceptionally good.
