    Sappy Tarp?

Took the tarp out of the freezer today, worked like a charm! Thanks Dwardo. Seems from the suggestions that removing sap is a lot like removing chewing gum, wonder if peanut butter would work...

    Low Alpine Sting Review

yep, great pack. I've had mine for a bit over year now and we are getting along great. I only wish they would add a couple of inches to the adjustable back, I had to make my own fix. Always wondered what the purpose of that velcro strip was, now I know, thanks. Jacob V.

Do you forage for edible Fungi?

Yes I do, I forage for mushrooms when ever I can. I only have little over a dozen mushrooms in my repertoire (edible fungi I can identify without a doubt) but it provides me with plenty of great meals. Any extras I either give away to friends (who trust my judgment, so far not too many...) or...

    Sharpening

Hard to say how long it took me but the most valuable teaching tool I found to be Mors' chapter on sharpening in Bushcraft. He gives you a great explanation of what actually happens when you drag a knife across a stone, and understanding this helps (helped me) tremendously in developing the...

    What's missing?

Side note: The F word has to be my all-time favorite food related program on the tele, I wish they would broadcast it here in the US. What Ramsay shows about rearing farm animals in his own backyard and then slaughtering and preparing them is really something that could do a lot of good here in...

    Enzo knife edge holding

I had the same edge problem with big chunks chipping away with only light use (its somewhere on a different thread), I ended up putting a secondary bevel on it, that did the trick, the knife has been performing magnificently ever since, it holds an edge like Bono....
