Women are used to organising a home and getting on with the "housework" so have more inbuilt ability to see what needs doing, organise, and get on with what ever needs to be done.
Men are needed (?) For the hard graft. I remember one episode where some of the chaps went out to try and catch a pig. They came back at dusk empty handed. The women went out, and came back with it slung on a pole between them in daylight.
Yes there was a lot of squeeling... and not just from the pig! But they did it.

I feel the need to defend the lady. As a woman, if you step out of the societal norms and try to do do things that a lot of women don't , then you hit all sorts of barriers, that are not necessarily apparent or understood by men.It wasn't Myself that you replied too.
Call me a cynic, but I'm suspicious of the wording.
'Local television producer' Survival shows e.g. Alone, have gigantic budgets and production teams
'Mystery prize' Could well mean whatever we've got down the back of the sofa
'Could you survive 100 days for 1 million' Very specifically doesn't say what it's 1 million of.
But if you're just looking for an excuse to be outdoors for 100 days, crack on!
Are you suggesting this only applies to women stepping outside of societal norms??I feel the need to defend the lady. Having already stepped outside of the norm, it becomes a small step to wish to call out those issues. Sometimes wrongly, or too strongly, and triggered based on their own experiences, but more often quite correctly. Calling out will always raise hackles & reaction from others because it is outside their norms.
We all naturally have a defensive bias and initial positions, based on our previous experiences and knowledge. This is a good thing, and helps keep us wary while we decide if that is really a sabre tooth tiger or a large fluffy cat. But we do not have to poke it with a stick to find out...

Your question to Woody Girl was about women, misandry, and her apparent changeable position. You were triggered by her tongue-in-cheek joke about mainly male forum reactions, she was right and you fell for it!
One of those wry funny faces might have been a better reply.
I feel the need to defend the lady.
) gave it another shake to be sure and then hung out a sign so that no one could mistake it for an accident.
Great, be independent, just quit bringing it up in conversation like anyone else cares! Blokes care about as much as you do when you hear single blokes defining themselves as independent because they cook and clean!

Why? I don't like them either, I prefer beeswax, which do smell nice, and natural.. Do you mean the highly synthetic scented ones ones, or just the scented candle scenario altogether? Its the scented candles that worry me
Thank you Tee Dee.

Edit; I started to type this out and suddenly this thread went sort of nuts !
Bushcraft is great. Hurrah. And this Wales thing looks like fake news to me. Not even Alone with their big production gives out a million. Thanks for bringing it back to bushcraft.
