reluctant sale of my Bushmobile! with pics

My partially restored campervan is now on the road!!! Unfortunately I can’t justify running two vehicles so I must sell my faithful “bushwagon”! It is a Mitsibishi Pajero and has just sailed through another MOT needing just some exhaust parts! It is a super car – not fast and not flashy but...

Any ideas what i can make from antler ?

I know a lady who spins wool and knits garments - she loves to use antler disc buttons!!! It's just a question of cutting into disc and drilling 2 little holes (ie hard work for little return - but very satisfying!)

    Raw sheeps fleece

Kimbok - Hi there, thanks for your reply - I am just checking out the best (ie most economical) way to send a big box of wool to you. When I find out I'll let you know the postage cost and thats sufficient for me!!! Nice to get the stuff used - I do have a few balls of wool that a friend spun...

    Raw sheeps fleece

I will have 14 white fleeces soon which I have no use for. They will obviously be unwashed and therefore still full of lanolin. Although there are dozens of uses for sheeps wool, they are surplus to my requirements and I'd love to share them with Bushcraft members. I don't really need anything...

    Fed up of normal life

Got to agree with Bikers sentiments here - don't spend any energy worrying just do what you've started ie checking out possibilities. And take a bit of a chance, a little graft and goodwill can take you round the world and back - you'll be just as skint when you get back but you'll have...

    Calling all bushcrafters in Surrey

Hi All, Is it worth waiting a day to see how many would still come if it's raining? As for the "hosting" issue, I wasn't assuming you you'd be running the gaff - sorry if you thought that - I was hoping that we'd all pitch in with something, but there hasn't been much feedback!!!! The only...

    Calling all bushcrafters in Surrey

Hi All, Well it's been frankly crap weather for a fortnight here and as its gone a bit quiet on the "Surrey" front, I was just wondering if we are still up for a meet this weekend?? It would be good to establish a final number and have a think about what we'll do if it pees down all the time!! I...

    Dogs

I've always gone for rescue dogs, and usually crossbred ones too. My old lurcher was the best provider, especially when working with a crossbred collie who did the bushwork to evict potential dinner!! I now have 4 dogs - a very happy pack. I would also urge anyone to consider a rescue dog -...

    offal?

Offal is far to good to waste! A few tips: the liver should be eaten as fresh as possible, it doesn't keep well. If it comes from a male animal (especially in the breeding season) it can be very strong - if so, slice and soak it for a few hours in milk. Mash cooked liver with oil, pepper, salt...

    Resin glue

I believe that the guy Ray Meras built the canoe with said that the glue also contained another agent to make it more flexible ...... bear fat!! I can get plenty of mutton tallow if anyone wants some, but the bear fat might be more difficult!!:lmao:

    pike

We used to eat quite a few river pike which are I think better than lake versions! Anyway, after preperation we would poach them then when cool pick over the meat removing yet more bones, add salt, pepper and parsley, roll in breadcrumbs then fry in butter: Pikecakes!! Incidentally, type in...

    Calling all bushcrafters in Surrey

Hi All, Sounds like things are looking promising!! As I said in an earlier post, I can only dip in and then go early to collect my son from Cranleigh, but it will be great to get together. Frankly it will be worth it just to take a packed lunch and some billies for a cuppa and a good chat...

    You tube Bushcraft

I'm afraid that I see life thro rose tinted glasses!! Despite seeing that theres a lot of criticism of "amateur" stuff I do think that if its no good I don't have to watch it!!! Tell you what though - it's a tool and as such has its uses: I've been eating pike for 30 years and just tonight...
