    Food processors and food mixers.

I have a Kenwood food processor and a stand mixer. Can't rate them high enough, but I really, really like cooking. The food processor really only speeds up prepartion time, but let's you do some other nitty things. Raise egg whites while you mix the remaining batter for cake, super fast potato...

    Cleaned the block up

This one is a really conundrum... If the teeth are sharp it's unlikely that it's a vice jaw. But looking for such a file produces nothing... the closest thing is a relief sanding block, but that is more for buffing than for filling. I really like tools and often have no trouble finding...

    Cleaned the block up

Are the teeth "cutting" lengthwise or widthwise? Maybe it's for some "mechanical file" machine thing, due to the holes, kind of like a mechanical saw. P.S: Sorry for my english (not my 1st language) and the over complex possible solution (too much steampunk)

inflatable sleep matt storage and folding

Hi! I'm kind of new to inflatable sleep matts (not down matts). Been looking for answers, but haven't found any match. Should one keep the matt open upon storage (at home, for long periods) or it's ok to keep it in the stuff sack? And on transport, is it OK to keep "rolling" it always the...

    Alpkit Hunka or Hunka XL

Thank you very much. The bag is not really a winter bag, it's only 3-seasons (as I said, in deep winter i prefer other options and in Portugal is hard to get less than 3ºC except for some selected areas).

    Alpkit Hunka or Hunka XL

180X50X2,5 cm. It's not "branded", from Decathlon. It's ok for the weather we get here in Portugal (except for very cold winters, but in thoose conditions i preferer a tent).

    Alpkit Hunka or Hunka XL

Hi! I'm goingo to buy my first bivi-bag and decided upon a Hunka. Now the problem is that my winter sleeping bag is 205 x 75 x 48 (L x W x W) cm. The Hunka is 80cm wide. Is 5cm more ok or will it be to tight? Should I get the Hunka XL (98cm wide on shoulder, 72cm on the foot area) ? It's the...

    Physical conditioning with heavy backpack

I think the only guys who would do such a thing live in the Himalayas.. And they use tumplines. Can you post a kit list of what you are going to carry? If possible with weight, including food weight (you're gonna burn a lot of callories carrying 24Kg every day for 22miles).

Excelent thread btw. Very nice to see with what you can "get away" with. And a question for Wayland: What kind of awl is the bottom one?

    Paracord lanyard for backpack zipper

Look for crown knot. In the end just trim flush and "solder" (with a lighter) the remaining ends.

Bahco 2444 Mora Knife - Experiences?

I have two of thoose... And I know a lot more people who do also carry a Bahco clipper. No problems with edge retention at all... You notice it a little while heavy carving (especially on seasoned wood), but nothing out of ordinary. Just go for it.. Can't go wrong really... It's a Clipper =D
