made this last week :) Polar 95 blade Oak handle with walnut bolster and pommel. I left the handle much ticker, because I like a handle to be nice and filling in the hand. Bas

I know what your saying, i rarely go without my Swanndri :). May I ask why you want to swap the mosgiel for the bushshirt? Doesn't the zip make the mosgiel more versatile to wear ?

    Enzo knife edge holding

3 months ago I made a Enzo knife but never had the chance to take it for a spin. And 2 days ago I was in the garden and just wanted to make a firebow, board from birch and a drill of hazel. when i shaped the drill it was easy at first, taking the bark off and bit of shaping. But I found that...

    Bit of advice wanted.

Yup. I would take a bivi, and mat of some kind. The mat protects your back from the cold ground. And the bivi for the chance that your bag gets wet. but it depends on the outer lining off the bag some can take a bit off water really well, and some can't like mine :( That's why I'm no longer...

You could take a look at Tasmanian Tiger, that's the sf range of Tatonka. http://intranet.tatonka.com/infosys/infocgi/artintt8.dll?501@2 Have the Range pack my self and very happy with it. But there are some nice smaller ones too. Bas

    Show us your D.I.Y favourites!

I really enjoy woodworking. Even though my level off skill isn't no where near that off some of the things I've seen on here. I have made a few rustic benches, spoons and 1 cup. But I'v made a few knives as well, but that was mostly making the handle, and I think that count as woodwork. :P I...

    What sleeping bag?

Been using a Nanok SF -10 for the last 2 years and its never let me down. I've a multiple time that there was frost on the outside of my bivibag while I was nice and warm in only my boxers. Also there are 2 small pockets on the inside, really handy to store your torch or other small things...

    from Gtex to Ventile

Everyone thanks. It looks like I'm going to safe some money as well. Don't know why but the prices on UK shops for ventile clothing are much lower then here in Holland. I just found a Dutch supplier off Hilltrek but the prices are just insane. It would cost me 500 euro's for the Gelncoe...

Thanks Toddy. I'll have a look around. And Prawnster, I know it would come cheap :P. But I have been saving up for this the last few months. But yeah it's not really a purchase that I would ore can make regularly. Bas

    from Gtex to Ventile

he he I have been using Gtex and the like for the last few years, and while I do like it ( keeps me dry), I find it feels unnatural when I'm out. And most of the time I'll only wear my swanndri and only put my Gtex when its pouring down. Being a little pyromaniac I'm always poking in the fire...
