  • Yugh! Ironing?? ;) How long ya gonna be able to keep that up for?
Yeah I'm back studying, think i was already enrolled at the moot last year...just a certificate in counselling skills this year, to go on to do psychotherapy or counselling. But I'm not sure I'm going to be able to afford next year yet, or if i want to go straight on.
In the meantime I'm doing decorative work on boats and things, and have just given in and decided to send my cv to some carefully chosen places who might like a hydrologist e.g. The WWT consultancy at Slimbridge. So all go! Except right this minute it is all stop as I'm crippled with lumbago.
Wow! That's good news! Professional? What no more jeans and t-shirt? But its an unwritten rule env consultants are allowed 2b scruffy.
I guess if it was your 1st day today you had to go in in the wrong clothes to find that out eh?.... :)
Na, work did. But now planned for this Sat, so snow and ice should no longer be a problem either. :) The snow is melting here now...what's it like there?
Yes, we got snow today. Only about 3", but it was enough to trap all the cars in our valley. Unfortunately, my workplace isn't very far away, so I walked.
Ah well, I'm a part-timer, so can go sledging tomorrow if there is still snow around (it was melting fast). Polystyrene body-board (cheap surfboard) inside a fertiliser bag is the way forward - tell your neighbour ;)
Lol! Well, at least you didn't have to give up and retrace steps.
Still waiting for decent snow here. End of Jan last year, my friends Susie and Nathan got snowed in when they visited for a long weekend :) In the meantime, the frost is lying thick on the floor. Didn't stop me 'n my niece bivvying on New Year's eve - it was a beautiful night. Full moon and Tawny owls calling in the distance.
Lol! Valuable commodity kendal mint cake :) I haven't even made it out of Sharpness yet since coming home... Been working every day at the pub which is about 1min walk from my front door. Got a hike with a mate due soon across the Severn bridge though...as long as it isn't closed due to danger of ice falling... :)
Golly! Sounds like plenty of sledging material where you are. We had about 5mm of haily-sort-of-snow here yesterday, but otherwise it has just been the usual rain. Still colder earlier in the year than we've ever had it before. Do you normally have snowdrifts up to the knees at beginning of January?
Urgh! Glad i dont live in a city anymore. Why don't you send a flare up and organise a food drop? It being cold and treacherous out there...
Hey up our kid! Dave told me your nom de plume so its all his fault i got to find you and add you to my list of chums :) How's it going? Still got a job? Entec is apparently thinking about a 2nd round of redundancies so am happy I'm not there!
