I have been asked to run a couple of 1 day bushcraft courses at my local country park. Does anyone know where I can get public liability insurance cover for bushcraft activities. I have been quoted £300 by a local broker but seing as I will only get paid £200 for both days it isn't worth it. Any...

New to wood carving- Help :O)

Remember the three golden rules of wood carving. 1, A sharp knife carves more easily than a blunt one. 2, Always keep your carving knife sharp. 3, Don't start carving if your knife isn't sharp. Seriouly though a sharp knife is much safer to use as less effort is needed to perform the...

Any way to remove permenent marker?

One way I have found to remove permanent from a white board is to colour over the mark with a dry wipe marker then rub it off once dry. Off comes the dry wipe and the permanent mark as well. Wether it will work on plce I don't know try it in a discreet area first.

Camo or not Camo that is the question

What colour clothing do you prefer when out bushcrafting? Ex army camoflage, plain olive green / earth colours, realtree type camoflage or ordinary colour hiking / walking gear. My personal preferance is for a mix of green and camo so that I blend in with my environment but I sometime think I...

    Whats wrong with axes?

After looking around at various bushcraft courses I am amazed at how anally retentive most providers are about the use of axes. Phrases like "under no circumstances must an axe be used on this course". For instance the Woodsmoke Woodlander course 5 days in a forest and not an axe in sight!! I am...
