Appologies! I was reeling from an earlier post by another that the laws didn't apply.

You should get your thyroid checked out, I was the same up until a couple of years ago when I started getting tremors and sweats. It turned out my toxin levels were sky high so the quack put me on tablets.

You might just have a high metabolism and you've also got age on your side, definitely think about it though

I don't think anyone was specifically saying they didn't apply at all, just not in the simplistic way that is projected by some - ie calorific value of food ingested = weight gain if not burnt off by exercise! If only it were that simple we could survive on a half-pound of coal dust a day, or 10lb of hay:)

I have lost just under 6kg in 2 weeks by exercise and cutting out "junk food/drink" (I am in training for a triathlon, I know the weight loss will level out as my muscle mass increases however)..... You have to make it a life style change not a diet.

I am 6ft and started at 106kg I will end up the weight I end up.. But I will be fitter and less wobbly!

you a member of Lincoln tri club pignut? i'm thinking about joining to do a triathlon next year after i do the 'tough mudder' next may?

i'm 5' 9" and 77kg currently. heading to 70kg for my competition weight. my approach is basically eat less crap, and do some kind of exercise every day except fridays. It has to become a way of life and not something you define as a finite period.

That's worth bearing in mind. I haven't been hit by it but it personally but it is in the family.

@Shewie, at a guess it was you Thyroxine levels that were sky high?

Yeah I think so, they referred to them as T4 and T2 I think. Levels should have been around 5 but mine were up in the 30's.

Dad had 70% of his taken out in two different operations, then 2 doses of radiation and then more tablets before his calmed down.

I saw a picture of him aged 24 when I was 24 and he looked just like me, then over the page, aged 25, he looked about 40.

It's probably a Warrior then, there are more of them around that pretty much any other Piper type in the UK, and the PPL guys like them as they are easy to fly and cheap to maintain. Uncalled for jibe at the Americans there though I think. Seen the UK lately? We're only 15 years behind.

All this weight issue though, err, sorry, but he's pulling your leg. It's been years since I flew a little Warrior, but I'm sure two up, he's not going to put the weight and balance outside the envelope even with both wing tanks full.

In fact, the only thing I fly thats used by some PPL's and has a weight per seat limit is the R22/R44, and they're helicopters, you'd be over the limit for those. If you get a hard autorotational landing, you'd bust the seat through the floor mounts if your above 16 stones.

    Billyblade, CPL/IR/ATPL(A) amongst other things.

I'm 6'2 and 122kg and i'm fat, doing my best to get the weight off now though eating right and moving more so hopefully will be a lot lighter soon.

The thing that got me thinking of loosing weight is i'm only 29 and my knees are already giving me jip, that is in no small part due to my excess weight.

If its something you want to do it might be worth shifting a few pounds
