DIY Alternative to a small storm kettle (my multi-fuel Chimney Kettle Jug)

Hi all, I thought I'd share an update with you... Back in the summer, I developed an alternative to a kelly kettle which also doubled as a trail stove & it all worked well and since then, I've found that using one more bit of the kit (the chimney tube), the trail stove option works even better...

I bought a small bench-top wood lathe a couple of years ago and a few tools and did turn three and a half light oak table legs on it as my first turning project but the last leg never quite got finished... and the table top never gone done either...! Now have more time on my hands so hoping to...

a new idea for a tool for all bushcrafter,s to enjoy!

Hi... I'm assuming from what little you have said so far that you have developed an idea for a bushcraft tool and want to find a way to have it manufactured and that you would presumably be looking to make some money from your invention. If this is correct then here are a few tips:- Think...

DIY Kit storage system for hammock camps (keep your kit tidy, dry and in one place)

Here's my idea on how to stow kit when hammock or bivi camping so that your camp area doesn't look like your rucksack just exploded... The system uses the same tree(s) that your hammock is slung between and doesn't need any branches. It makes it easy to find any of your bits and bobs and has...

    Cheap 1 man tent/bivvy needed.

The LIDL hiker tent weighs 1.5 kg and the packed size (which could be stuffed even smaller in a compression sack - can't compress the pole sections of course...!) is 370mm X 170mm X 100mm. Paul.

I bought one of these LIDL light weight hiking tents for £13 and it's fine for 1 person plus your kit... I did a bit of a review in the video below... Paul. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ectv0igFFhs

Kit and clothes hangers - how do you stow your kit when hammocking ?

Thanks for the feedback so far... I'm working on an idea for an easy to use, lightweight, rainproof and very cheap DIY kit stowage system that might interest a lot of you and wanted to gauge the way some people do it already and so watch this space.... I'll post up my idea with pics when it's...

Cheers Ahjno - Other forums with a similar bushcraftUK format allow image uploads direct from PC so I had assumed it would be the same here. I have a flickr account, I'll use that.

DIY Alternative to a small storm kettle (my multi-fuel Chimney Kettle Jug)

This is my take on a compact and efficient multi-fuel 500ml water boiler and trail stove combination. It's gone through several iterations to get to this and is proven in the field. My two vids show the Chimney Kettle Jug in use and also includes a tutorial on how to make one. Paul...

Hi From Sunny South East Wales (OK - I Lied about the sunny bit...!)

Hi all, I'm a member of other bushcrafting forums but new to Bushcraft UK... I've been interested in bushcrafting, walking and camping for a couple of years, (born again...!) keen on doing it on a budget and prefer making or adapting kit, especially stoves and have a few related You Tube...

Kit and clothes hangers - how do you stow your kit when hammocking ?

I'm very new to hammocking having always previously been a confirmed ground dweller and the biggest bugbear I have at the moment is where to stow all my bits of kit when using a hammock & tarp so my question is... how do you stow your kit ? Paul.
