if it's solely for splitting kindling you might be better off having a look at modding a cheap billhook. basically just cut the beak off at an angle and you've got yourself a great kindling splitting tool, much better IMHO than any hatchet. i shall have a look see if ican find a picture of what i'm talking about

Bet they ain't made in Oregon.

Oregon make a lot of chainsaw products.
Chains, files, filing guides, chainsaw vices, airfilters, bearings and whatnot.
Personally I prefer Stihl chains but the rest of the stuff seems fine.
Can't say I've ever noticed them making (or putting their label on) axe's till today but it's an obvious thing for them to sell.
