Can't help looking at it. I tidied some kit away into my loft, actually climbed the ladder with it in my hand but couldn't go through with pulling the hatch down on it. As I write this it sits in the corner of my room within sight. I know I'm sad but it's just so lush. (Lowe Alpine Sting in OD). Anyone else feel similar about an inanimate object?

you should meet PREPER, you'd get on like a house on fire, the last time we met he was stroking his new karrimor and whispering sweet nothings to it. 'twas a very nice karrimor though i must admit!

LOL, I keep all my stuff in a locking filing cabinet, Never a day goes by that i don't re-organise my stuff in the drawers.
My rucksack's are in the corner of our bedroom, First thing i see when i wake up:eek:, SWMBO just shakes her head at me and mutters something about needing help

My knives - including everyday users - hang on the wall in the living room with the strop close at hand...I will lovingly strop and polish their edges (even if they have not been used for a couple of days) as I sit by the fire....
Many of my hand carved spoons, hand made bowls, tubs, flint tools etc take the place of ornaments on the shelves and I stand and admire them when I should be doing other things - like work!
I can see loads of my favourites from where I am sitting right now!

Haha I have the same compulsion to use and look at my knives and MT. I was in awe of some of the gear like the jetboil but that soon wore off...
