Hammock question.

I'm looking at wild camping alternatives, either a bivi or hammock.

I know nothing about Hammocks, though.

Which is better, a netted none closing one (at least I think it's none closing):

I'm guessing the netted ones are better in that they keep mossis out, but are colder. But do the closing ones get condensation, even if they're not waterproof.

One think i know is I need a little tarp as well.

I know these are cheap, but, well, I'm always looking for a bargain.

I'd maybe look at DD Hammocks, they're fairly cheap and provide great service. They're a staple among us on here...check out the travel or frontline. That way you've got a mosquito net if you want or you can use it without by flipping it over.

Out of those two I'd go for the netted one. I can't see much point in wrapping yourself up in nylon as it defeats the object of sleeping in a hammock for me.

One more question - I've noticed a few XL hammocks advertised. Is it better to get a longer one - I'm 6', or is there any problem with kind of sagging in the middle if it's too long?

I'm 6ft 2" and just shy of 100kg.
The DD hammocks are the perfect length for me and the quality/service, in my experience, is second to none.

Go for the longest you can find, I think the extra weight isn't anything to be concerned about but it can make for a much comfier sleep.

I read somewhere about sleeping Brazilian style - kind of at an angle as best I could understand it, to keep your back straighter. Do you need a specially designed hammock for this, or can you do it in any?

any hammock will support this and yes sleeping diagonally will ensure your back stays as straight as possible, out of those two (as previously mentioned) I would definitely go for the netted one. That tenth wonder one you have just shown looks brilliant!
