As per title - just wondered if anyone on BCUK had done the Journeyman course. I saw a few discussions on it in the forums when I searched but wasn't sure if anyone had actually done it either way.

Completed it 17 years ago. I’ve done the Intermediate Course with Frontier Bushcraft since and think I enjoyed that more (they weren’t available then). I think if I’d done the Intermediate before the Journeyman I might have got a bit more out of it but it’s hard to know. I don’t live that far from the site Woodlore use and it’s a nice memory whenever I head up the A9 at this time of year.

That's great, I know it's been running for a long time. I just finished it on Saturday and thought it was absolutely amazing. I wonder if it has changed much over the years...

Can I ask, does Woodlore only offer the Journeyman with Ray in attendance now?

I did it many years ago, well worth the money in my opinion.
As some of the other posters have said Ray conducted some of the lessons but was off and about doing other stuff for most of the time, the other instructors were excellent though.

When I did it Ray was there for part of it but not involved very much with the course. He spent some time with us but for most of it he was either deer hunting or fishing
The reason I ask is that, when I've checked over the last year or two, the course has only been available as 'being led by Ray', which means an extra £1k added to the course price.

They don't seem to run it with other instructors leading any more.

I believe so yes, I possibly would have taken the other option as well but in hindsight I'm glad it was with Ray.

I did it in 2021, not with Ray.
It's tough, fascinating, but brilliant.
The instructors were excellent, very well experienced and highly professional. A credit to Woodlore.
Highly recommended as a learning experience, and, well, a life experience to be honest.
