Yvelines, north-west of Paris, France.
For those looking for hewing axes, take a look at la-frontiere.fr.

In particular there are two versions of a model called Bradva, a lighter one available in both left- and right-handed versions, and a heavier one but only right-handed.

Trust the French to be whipping out random steel lol. Had a 'few' random French axes over the years... Random car boot/ farmers market type sales. I didnt find them, but an ex member on here, Aaron (Biker) used to get a load over the year, sort them out and sell them. Lots of interesting designs, i'll give them that!

Guessing these are modern made? Only saying that as any vintage hewing axe is offset (handle isn't at 90 degrees to the edge) If they're not offset, You end up with scabs in place of knuckles. The ones i've seen, the eye was offset to the edge, rather than a bent handle. Maybe both work... not sure.

Given the price, they don't look great quality.

For not that much more you could get one of these (Granted not in stock but Josh is a superb craftsman) and you'd be supporting a British business.

Here are two images showing the offset of the right-hand version of the 2.5kg model.
