Retired army surgeon, working as private doctor now. I’ve been blessed to be able to hunt, hike, and fish all around the world. I’ve always appreciated the UK approach to hiking and bushcrafting.

welcome to the forum xxx

Thanks all.
I am thankful to be in the US (north Florida which is more Deep South than what overseas visitors think of Florida. It’s not all Mickey Mouse and Miami Beach! We are blessed with an abundance of public land to play on. That said, I do appreciate your attitude and approach to bush crafting. In the US, it often devolves into a competition to see who can be more of an 1800s mountain man. Yall seem to be more about just doing whatever it takes to enjoy being outside. As far as hunting, I have been on a few trips to the UK. Driven partridge, muntjac, CWD in England and stag in Scotland. Wonderful times and made some great friends. Visiting the UK is like staying with cousins. You’re related, but dang if your cousins don’t do some weird stuff!!!

Welcome Ducks ( A quaint old British term btw )

Which part of the USA are you in?

I lived in St Augustine while seconded to JAX.. took regular trips across to Pensacola and Tallahassee.
Small world!
Royal Navy?
I do contract work in JAX on a regular basis. Nice big town to visit , but I prefer Pensacola by far as a place to live. Did you make it the aviation museum while in Pensacola?
I spent a few weeks in Morocco with a couple of your army medics and doc a few years ago, right before I retired. Fun to be with, learn from, and hang out with. I have never had a bad experience with any Brit while deployed. Great people that yall should and I sure are, proud of.
