Whenever I walk up steep hills wearing wellies or ankle length boots my socks always seem to slowly work their way down and periodically need pulling back up. Any tips on how to stop this happening?

American astronauts were taught 'sock etiquette' in the days when appearances really, really mattered. They wore sock suspenders to keep their socks pulled up and taut so that no flesh flashed when they sat down, especially in interview situations.
Sounds surreal, but the 60's /70's were weird times.
My hairy legs would protest, big time, at having to remove sticky tape! I won't even have the tiny Bandaid plaster after an injection!I was going to say garter, or double sided tape! There does seem to be various little elasticated small belt type options which may work.
I'd start off with well fitting socks, easier said than done for me as I'm right between the too big and too small measurement of 8.5 - 9.

I wear a liner sock underneath a thicker sock and that works for me
