Camping gaz globetrotter

Collecting one tomorrow but when I mentioned it will need conversion for modern cartridges the chap said not needed and gave me link to The campingaz C206 GLS pierceable gas cartridge which seem common. Yet when I google the stove every one seems to mention conversions. Any one use one ?

I converted mine a few years ago. A simple job and well worth it, it makes the Globetrotter much more usable. I never liked keeping stove and cartridge together permanently, then the C206 became like hens teeth, so I stopped using it. There are afew YT videos on how to do the conversion.

Hello,

I have recently acquired one such and it seems to need converting to run on modern cartridges, does anyone have any experience as I am a bit nervous about fiddling with a gas stove ?

If you have converted it can you not use any of the modern cartridges that screw on or have I miss understood

The conversion means you can use any modern screw on cartridges, as shown in the photos.

Thank you for the info all guides so far suggest you pinch a valve off and old stove. When I google these old stoves though there about 30 or 40 quid. It’s going to cost me a tenner so will pick it up and do further research. Must be a five quid adapter some where

Looks like the internet was right the new carts don’t fit.

Will have to adapt it unless I am meant to push it to break seal then screw it

For me, it was just to keep an old stove that works well, going.
It also runs on a wider range of gas types. If I were ever to find a supply of C206 cartridges, it would be a simple job to convert back.

Well that seemed to have worked but took hell of lot of force with gas squirting every where. Doesn’t ozze safety lol. Apparently the 4 quid lixada stove bit fits so will order one them

That's why I never liked that style, screw in much saferand easier.
