hey guys , all of my surplus boots are unusable for the upcoming season , can you show me some good boots for -15 cold and deep snow in the range of 50 pounds ?

British army cold weather boots. Leather uppers, gortex and vibram soles.

Can be hard to get hold of these days but highly recommended. Have gone through several pairs over the years.

Expect to pay 70 and up for unused.

A little bit over the fifty quid mark but Grubs Snowline 8.5 are the best winter boots i've ever used, well cosy well below freezing, completely waterproof up to just below the knee

The one thing that puts me off most of the boots listed so far is they all have laces, this is an ingress point no matter how good they are, i've got boots that were £300 to buy new, they are the highest rating waterproof boots with all the trimmings even a fancy well known brand name and military heritage, but if i stay in long wet grass or trudge through boggy wet stuff in and out of kayaks etc they eventually fail and let water in, now this is never on the first or even second day but after repeated days of getting wet and not getting properly dry the waterproofness gets defeated and then they are not good again until they have been able to be properly dried (and then rewaxed ideally) and this drying takes ages if you are outdoors and it is cold and wet still

Grubs snowline 8.5, mine are now 2 years old and i have never gotten cold or wet feet once wearing them, i am mostly using them for trudging around Scotland at or below zero and kayaking and canoeing in similar temps, i walk through anything in them getting in and out of kayaks and canoes, bone dry warm feet always, only treatment they ever need to keep them waterproof is absolutely nothing, clean them if you like with water and a scrubbing brush, @Chiseller recommended them a couple of years back on here and i have never looked back, i eventually met the fellow in real life last year in October in Scotland and the very first thing i said to him after introductions were thanks for the boot recommendation, i was wearing them at the time. When they eventually wear out i'll be buying another pair, not sure when that will be like as they are over 2 years old now and still look brand new except for the dirt

Just snapped a pic of my 2.5 year old Grubs snowline just to show what i mean, after over 2 years of use in conditions that would have destroyed any of my other footwear in a month, they are still perfect. We just spent 3 weeks in th Adirondack mountains together canoeing, lowest temp was only -6c but it snowed a lot and rained even more and i was continuously stepping in and out of the canoe into freezing water and mud to no ill effects, they make you forget about cold feet outdoors especially combined with some nice wool socks

I have some grubs that they are brilliant if you are not doing a lot of walking. Grip is great and waterproof but if you are doing a lot of work I find they can get very sweaty and then wet.

For canoeing they are brilliant but for clocking up miles especially over up and down terrain my foot tended to slip and start to create hot spots.

Reminds me I do need to replace mine as they have started to leak. Done me proud for about 4 years mind.

Aye they are definitely a bit heavy for long distance walking especially day after day kindov stuff also once temps get above 10c they can be uncomfortably warm, i use my Altbergs for that type thing (they are great and trainer level comfort in a boot) but once they are proper wet through you are not getting them dry until you get them out of the wet weather, worst part is excessively assisted drying like around the fire or in the sunlight destroy the leather on them pretty quick, i like the thought of getting another couple of year out of my Grubs still
