Can anyone recommend a good knife maker that does not have a huge lead time?

I want to get a knife made but everyone I have tried so far seems a bit flaky.

Try Mark Hill or Stuart Mitchell, both excellent, or FGYT of Dorset Woodland Blades who I can personally vouch for.

I don't think he's on this forum, but on British blades there's a guy called bones61, he made me a knife. It's a piece of art but it can out chop a kukri and feather like a dream!

I think i'v seen bones61 on here. I'v seen loads of his knives though and they look great
+1 for mark hill (hillbill) and duncan (fgyt) though. top knives and top fellas to deal with too

Just to add since you mention lead time. Mark turned out a full knife and sheath for me in a fortnight.
couldn't believe when he told me. I was all set to give him the go ahead and then just forget about it for a while, considering he seems to be a pretty 'in demand' maker thats impressive, that was for a standard design of his i should point out

Duncan has cut a custom parang blade that i designed
I emailed him pics of my drawings to begin with then wooden cutouts. he had the final pic of the wooden model transfered to his cnc program and ready to go in a couple of days

9" blade, 5mm bearing steel. As I mentioned that thing out chopped a kukri! It just sliced through the wood! Beauty! Holds an edge well, and good price!
