Just got a pair for work this morning, little on the heavy side but feel comfortable, they seem popular so hope they stand up to rough treatment well.

No I just asked about new work boots on the landscape forum, as I'd split my zamberlan boots that I was wearing. These are the same height as a walking boot & are oiled leather with a goodyear welt.

First off, I don't wear kinky boots with buckles and I've never seen the inside of a YMCA 
I wore Buckler dealer boots for a long time when I worked with horses, and found them extremely comfortable and very hard wearing; the first pair I had lasted over seven years and kept me dry and warm.

Nowt wrong with engineer boots
My favorite pair of redwings are almost the same as the ones in the pic below....i'v had em 10 years so far and no real sign of wearing out yet, and they've been worn a LOT!

The ones I posted up are indeed Redwings (unfortunately expensive) Back in the day they were worn primarily by railroad engineers (the drivers) Later by "operating engineers" (heavy equipment operators) such as my dad. Now-a-days they're mostly worn by hardcore bikers.
Actually I think the ones you posted are the latest version of my pair, mine are the same execpt they have a stacked wooded riser in the heel

I have a pair of the Rigger type I bought for winter time work and they are very uncomfortable, I find.
A bit of feed back. One these boots are heavy, so you know you are wearing them, but they are comfortable. They have however, stretched a considerable amount, to a point that I have to know think about an extra insole or thicker socks, so I'm thinking about keeping them as a winter boot, we'll see.
