Tbh it would probably be reasonably cost effective to buy a small high power CREE LED and replace it yourself, thats what I'm planning for my my Mag Mini

Not worth it then.i recently just inherited 3 maglites a big battery jobby down too a tiny one but I just don't know what do wit em seems a waste

I know what you mean I've got a couple myself, pretty well made just old technology.

Looked up an LED conv for my D cell, looked to be around £40/50 :(

It's more likely that since this comes from a reputable manufacturer it is accurately stating what the lumen output is , as opposed the the Chinese eBay knockoffs that promise 100 lumen and deliver .... substantially less

I did this a few years back... poo was the outcome lol ive now got a solid little light from AP PROseries from B&Q for £15 and i love it :)

I looked in to a led upgrade for my maglite solitaire, but ended up getting a fenix e01, worked out similar in price but so much brighter and better on battery life.

I love my maglite, I have two the mini and the bigger one ( which recently broke after it was dropped by a borrower). True it's not the brightest or probably efficient, but I quite like the yellow glow and the way in which it doesn't' leave spots in your eyes or destroy the vision of those standing around you!
