It is looking like just Saturday for me, will probably be bringing my mate Darren again.
After a chat with Steve last meet I would like to suggest a group meal Saturday night. I can provide and cook a game stew for one and all if you all think it is a good idea? Last meet I made a wood pigeon red wine stew which turned out ok. I intend to add pheasant and perhaps duck or goose to the pot this time. I will also be adding bacon, mushrooms, onions, potatoes etc. I will use one of the big pans I cooked a group curry with on the fire several meets ago, some of you may remember. Perhaps someone might like to make some bannock to go with it?

I've been onto the Woodland Trust re North Wood as part of their HS2 campaigning and they've asked for any info on the woodland as its not been surveyed (I assume because its a private wood, maybe?). If theres any particularly lovely pictures or moments you want to pass on to them, feel free to send them to me via pm or grab me at the meet and I'll note them down and send them on Crafts shared or traded through the meets, flora and fauna, the site and its history.... whatever inspires YOU about the place

Can I please book a possible place on the communal for a 12" dutchie saturday lunchtime/ early afternoon? If I do the bread earlier, It'll have time to cool some , the fire should be well built up for your game stew and I'll be out of your way for the main event, if that suits you ok

It has been noticed that folk often stick the date in their diary and don't check the thread again before arriving... it will be a 'not noticed' rather than a purposeful 'opt out' if folk don't comment, lovey... we'll rub it in mercilessly by shlurping game gravy infront of them

I also believe that the other members of our little wolf pack would like to try it too so i'll post on their behalf!

we (wolfpack) will also be bringing a +1 each, so there will be Me Brian and Bill, and then 3 other "newbies" that aren't registered on here. So there will be quite a squad of strapping young lads roaming around
