Kuksa !

I started this project in the spring.

It has sat in my 'to do' basket for months

I have spent the summer learning new skills and traveling around the West Country.

Last week I finally sat down with my MiniMac knife and finished him off.

I've just taken multiple orders for more.
Looks like I'm going to be busy for a while.

Is their some sort of colour under the blackening?

Hello Platypus.
I'm afraid I got the white balance in a bit of a pickle on the red/blue photos.
There is no colour under the burnt colouring.
Mark me down on the photography.

The rams head kuksa is carved from green birch.
The careful application of a gas torch gives the burnt finish.

Yes, the trout kuksa is a beaut, it also holds good memories.
I'll keep this one as a datum for a batch that are mainly going to the US.
