Got to watch this tonight

  • BushMoot: Come along to the amazing Summer Moot 31st July - 5th August (extended Moot : 27th July - 8th August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I just watched the second one tonight, and again I enjoyed it. I have no expectations and I thought the glue was amazing, the floor was interesting, making glass with fire would be fun and who wouldn't enjoy making a massive wood burner out of a safe? It's just a guy with money and a piece of land having a laugh, is it sour grapes I detect in some of these posts? Why do so many people get so upset about tv programmes on here? Reminds me of Ray Mears Northern Wilderness. People were logging on to post there wasn't enough bushcraft going on. I still don't understand that!

+1

Another one that enjoyed the second episode.

Sour grapes? Don't be silly.
He's a bloke who makes a living out of criticising other peoples builds, then goes on to act in quite possibly the most amateurish way I've seen in a long time himself.
Can you imagine if someone else was doing what he's doing on Grand Designs? The Slating I gave him would be nothing compared to the slating he would give them.

I can only imagine how the people involved in the build are slowly sidling away from any ties to it in an effort to keep any business reputation they might still have.

The one a while ago Called Jimmys Forrest was far and away more informative and wasn't embarrassing to watch.

He's basically making a shed, its a few days worth of work or maybe a couple of weeks at most, some of you lot might think that's a big project (you're easy pleased if you do) but really its not.
Even when its done its looking pretty nasty, low ceiling on the crooked side for no real reason, a self cracking floor with no insulation under it, no ridge tiles so water will get in at the ridge and damage the laiths. And its only the second episode.
It's like a kids den.

I didn't mind the safe stove but the thermic lance was just so he had a toy to play with. That's fine and dandy but his credentials to ever criticise anyone else's build have fallen gone for good.

Erm, it's not grand designs as you mentioned yourself. It's a bloke building a glorified den in the woods to hang out in on the odd weekend. He's having a laugh with mates as he does it. I see no harm in this...

im with you on this mate, didnt really get it first time around, but the second episode, said it all, wanting to build something that you and your mates have built, and learn a lot on the way, fantastic.
