Hi just curious if on your adventures out while doing some bushcraft have you discovered anything new to you in bushcraft?

For me,
I recently worked out that when foraging for some tap roots of the smaller variety, its rather easy to push a stick down next to them into the ground then repeat on the opposite side and apply sideways pressure to pop the root through to the first hole made and this will extract a root rather easily. Well it did for me with Garlic Mustard.

I also worked out that with birch poly pore (razor strop) when it dries it goes like hard plastic but hydrates very easily and back to leather mushroom texture again BUT you can form it over things, tie it down and let it dry and once dry its takes the shape and is a hard plastic like mushroom substance. I made a small cup and yea if i bend it i can snap pieces off, its that hard. I also toasted a piece to see if it would render any different results when exposed to moisture again and no it always returns back to a soft wet leathery white mushroom. The cup is pretty cool, most certainly keep dried goods in it. If there was a natural safe way to waterproof it for food consumption, im sure it would work as a drinking cup. Im yet to try this, i have some ideas im yet to experiement with.
