Hi,

I have two Ray Mears 25th Anniversary Knives for sale (numbers 080 and 097 of 250) which I'm selling on behalf of their owners who were fortunate enough to buy at the same time as myself. The knives have never been used and have only been out of their boxes to be photographed.

I've attached a couple of pictures on the forum but uploaded more in two separate albums on Picasa:

080: https://picasaweb.google.com/104684...authkey=Gv1sRgCJ3Yi_fFk4yblgE&feat=directlink

097: https://picasaweb.google.com/104684...authkey=Gv1sRgCNCd86zmo-He9gE&feat=directlink

I'm looking for £575 ovno each.

Price includes non credit-card Paypal fees and Royal Mail special Delivery in the UK. I would be happy to accept cash on collection [near Sheffield] and adjust the price accordingly.

[Please N.B. This post was originally in response to questions and comments that have since been removed but I figured I'd it in place as an introduction/ further information to the ad.].

Cheers, yeah introducing myself might have been a good idea but being honest I don't have enough time at the moment to spend much of it on forums so I'm not really well versed in forum etiquette.

To set the record straight I've made a few knives and sheaths and have participated a little over at BritishBlades, although not as much as most, and not in the last couple of years for the reason mentioned.

I have my own 25th Knife that I do use and take out with me and I set the price based on ones I've seen sell after searching Google, which seemed prudent. In fairness I have expressed a willingness to negotiate on price.

Hope that answers some of the [now deleted] questions about 'me' and my 'interests' in this "classified" :D (luckily with modern technology I'm not having to pay by the letter ;-) )

Thanks twodogs, yeah definitely they're really nice to use although a bit awkward for any delicate whittling I find.

Sasquatch, yeah they're the Julian Pettersson blades - I also bought one of his laminated narrow tang blades (along with some full and narrow-tanged blades from Brisa) to make a knife with around the same time.

Cheers MartinK9 - yeah they're like art - I really like anything crafted with quality (bought a couple of 100 year old Singer Treadles to do up for the same reason - two are now desks and ones a working machine). It gives it a sense of real value which's rare these days. What do you use/ have now?

Lovely knives indeed,

I very much enjoy using mine every day, these knives can take it as well as any,

Good luck with the sale,

And for a hand forged knife made by an incredibly skilled craftsman in a very limited number, I think some one would get a great deal at that price:D

Southey,

Hello Mattnedgus and welcome to the forum :D

I would clarify things by saying that the Boss has seen and cleared this thread, and that a little courtesy is expected.
Sales threads have their own protocols; if in doubt, go and read the rules please Gentlemen :)

cheers,
Toddy

Up to the Top...

Well, this is a little embarrassing. I'm afraid I'm having to withdraw the knives from sale. Circumstances have changed since I posted the advertisement - I'm sorry if it seems like I've messed anyone about but I should have checked before I put them up. If things should change again in the future I'll be sure to re-advertise them.

EDIT: And I don't seem to be able to change the red 'for sale' status on the thread title so if someone that can would be so kind as to, I'd be most grateful.
