Anyone got a pyrography set they can bring along, I'm bringing one and Buckshot but a couple more would be useful for a kids workshop. Is Lindsey coming this year?

Lindsey is definately coming but I'm not sure if she was planning to bring her pyrography gear with her.

She's having probs acessing the forum at the moment but I'll ask her next time we speak.

Spoke with Lindsey and it's doubtful she's bringing her pyrography gear. It's currently awaiting repair

No worries - into the woodburner it will go. Shame cos I chipped about 200 barrows of branches . I'll try to remember next time I pollard them to keep the brush

Not sure if this is the right bit for it
Just wondering if anyone has 2 spare (will pay of course :) ) load bearing karabiners and maybe have 10mins to spare to show me how to modify my DD Hammock? :)

I'm bringing my Mk 2 DD which I've modded (how do you want to mod yours?) also various diametres of dyneema from amsteel down to zing it so should have something to suit. So no worries helping you out. I use crabs, but I've been looking at this on hamockforums, the soft shackle or nacrabiner to replace them.

Just thought of one, does anyone have some permethrin?

I want to stop the chiggers getting past my gaiters at Rough close, but can't find any for love or money...

Gary I found it on-line but the garments need to be soaked, its for midge nets, but it will work for trousers etc, to be frank I'm hoping the Autan stuff will work as it says on ticks, 3 for 2 at Boots.

I bought 2 bottles of Permethrin so if you want one let me know and I'll try and remember to bring it down with me, no promises, my mind is like swiss cheese atm, btw have a look at recent alerts in the US about the stuff.

I've got some specialist clothing treatment spray on order now but it's down to whether it turns up before Thursday now.

If I get nothing by tomorrows post, I'll let you know.

I tended to make mine from antler for a couple of reasons.

Firstly because they seem a bit more flexible and break less as a result and secondly, I was told that antler is less porous, so less likely to harbour bacteria if you stab yourself with one.

I admit to not knowing how true the second reason is, but it sounds plausible.

Thank you for the advice! I'll keep an eye out for some antler! :)
