Been wanting a very small, very sharp detail knife for a while and thought I'd make my own.
A stainless blade from an old victrinox pen knife and a piece of seasoned standing yew.
Likely not the prettiest but it fits my hand like I made it!! and the little blade I ground into a mini drop point has taken a wicked edge....hopefully it holds it.
I'll hopefully carve something interesting with it soon...

Sweet little knife with tons of character! Being able to craft things with tools that you have made yourself is a very satisfying experience.

Thank you for not getting angry.
I personally find edges on a knife I use for whittling makes my hand sore.

I like a triangular profile with rounded corners.

Yew is an awesome wood, I wish I took some nice pieces when I moved!

That is so close to the classic carving knives used by the native community (and others), here in the Pacific Northwest.
Handle size to fit the hand. Handle shape transmits the blade orientation without the need to examine carefully.

The major difference is the local knives are surface hafted, it's stronger than I ever imagined.
None of my last 15-20 have come apart in service.

All I can suggest is to make a second and a third.
They will seem so easy after what you have learned!
